ZOW is about to open its doors, which will take place in Bad Salzuflen, from 9 to 12 February 2015: it is the exclusive commercial platform for international suppliers of the furniture and interior design industry, characterized by a very well articulated concept which guarantees the shortest possible distance between the parties involved, favoring a direct dialogue between the major players, between supply and demand. Furthermore, ZOW acts as a trend setter for the products that will characterize the furniture of the future, think for example of RFID wireless technologies, solutions with optimized materials in “feather weight” constructions and so on. A preview of these future developments was already provided on 12 November last, when a conference was held in Frankfurt where the expert "trend scout" Lidewij Edelkoort presented some trends to suppliers and designers that will be shown to visitors in a special space. exhibition at the upcoming ZOW. But how does a trend arise? “The transition from trend to real trend is always an evolutionary process, slow but inexorable. However, it can be said that many ideas originate from the heart of society, when suddenly they start being followed by many people ”. In addition to mentioning the genesis of the various trends, the seminar also focused on the concept of networking, perceived as essential between the furniture design industry and trend scouts. It has emerged that state-of-the-art manufacturing methods and the wide range of materials associated with them are about to open up many possibilities for the industry in terms of product planning. This is why the collaboration between trend experts and designers becomes essential, especially to follow "paths" that at first glance appear difficult and unconventional, but which represent the future. From the next ZOW, thanks to these premises, companies in the sector will obtain excellent ideas for the future.
