The importance of Marmomacc

"Since 1961, we have represented the marble sector, which, in terms of production, processing, machinery, and technology, reached a total production value of over 3.84 billion euros in Italy in 2014. This was achieved by 3,340 companies with 33,700 employees. These numbers demonstrate a first-rate manufacturing reality, focused on exports, which accounted for 75% of the turnover, amounting to 2.88 billion euros in 2014," said Ettore Riello, president of Veronafiere. "In this context, Marmomacc represents the world's leading platform for promoting business and culture associated with natural stone. This role is confirmed by the attendance numbers, which see an average of one thousand five hundred exhibitors from over 58 countries and over 60,000 visitors, more than 50% of whom are foreigners from over 140 nations, along with commercial delegations representing more than 40 states," highlighted Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere. He also mentioned that for the fiftieth edition, Marmomacc, with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), the Italian Trade Agency, and Confindustria Marmomacchine, is dedicating a special initiative to support Made in Italy. This initiative includes three important projects: "The Italian Stone Theatre," a pavilion that celebrates the absolute excellence of the Italian marble industry; a further significant activity involving incoming foreign commercial delegations of sector operators, with over 200 architects and buyers; and the organization of the "International Stone Summit," the first international summit of marble associations. Indeed, Marmomacc represents a true global network in support of companies, presiding over established and emerging markets throughout the year, with a calendar of events organized in the United States, Brazil, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Morocco, and Egypt. In its mission abroad, Marmomacc can rely on important institutional partners such as Simest, Sace, Confindustria Marmomacchine, Informa Exhibitions, and the Service Center for Marble of Volargne, the guide of the Veneto Marble and Stone District. Among the strengths of the event is its choice of also being an international center for university education and professional development through the Stone Academy meetings—a project in which Marmomacc takes the lead, involving twenty universities, both Italian and international, in the organization of seminars and second-level master's courses on stone design."
